What is a Health Coach?
I define a Health Coach as a trained professional who is passionate about healthy living in all areas of life and who wants to empower others to make that commitment to healthy living too. I personally focus on simple frameworks that will create maximum results for my clients quickly. What sorts of people have a life or health coach?
From my experience it is any type of person who has the desire to change a part of their life so that they are happier and healthier and having the realization that they will get those results quicker with the support of a coach.
What happens during a coaching session?
During each session with me, we discuss what has been going well (I ALWAYS start a session with a positive), recap on the actions set and achieved from the previous session, and review any challenges that may arise. Then I will provide new information as part of the customized framework I have set up for you. After, we will practice an experiential exercise or technique that will help you progress between sessions. Lastly and most importantly, we discuss the actions you want to set for yourself to help achieve your next action steps.
How long are the coaching sessions?
This is contingent upon your specific goals and the timelines I have in mind to help you achieve them. Just to give you an idea, it could be a 50min session or it could be a 6-hour session. The choice is yours.

How many coaching sessions will I need to achieve my desired results?
That is totally contingent upon what it is you're wanting to accomplish. Generally people enlist the help of a personal coach with a life changing goal in mind. In order to achieve this type of goal, I break down the goal into actionable steps that will be achieved per session to move you closer to your overall goal. For some people this may take as little as a day, for many this may take as little as 6 sessions and for others it will be more. It is a very personal decision based on your individual goal.

What will I have to do as the client?
To get the best from your coaching, you need to have a positive attitude, show up to your sessions, and have laser focus on the action steps we've set after each session. You'll also need to be totally open, trusting, and honest within the coaching relationship. You need to have the time and commitment to complete the actions that we've set after each session so that you move closer to your overall goal.
Bottom line, your level of commitment will directly influence the speed and extent to which your goals will be realized. To help you with this, I will provide boundless motivation, support, and encouragement while I challenge you lovingly within a confidential and non-judgmental environment.
What are the benefits or results for receiving mindset coaching?

How is coaching different from a therapist, nutritionist, etc.?
Professions such as therapists, nutritionists, doctors, and dieticians are Masters of Assessment where they assess, diagnose, and then prescribe clients with medicine or a specific plan to resolve the client's issue.
Coaches are Masters of Habit Change and Belief Reframing. We excel at creating frameworks that will have the biggest impact on clients and enforce habit and lifestyle changes along the way. Coaches are also skilled in shifting habitual thought patterns and beliefs so that they overcome challenges and get to the results quicker than if they did it alone. We honor our client's past but we don't stay there. Our focus is on the client's present and where they want to go next.
For a better understanding of what other practitioners do compared to coaches, here are some definitions of what therapists, nutritionists, and dieticians do:
Therapist - A licensed medical professional that evaluates, diagnoses, and treat people with emotional and mental disorders.
Nutritionist - Experts in foods and nutrition, they help patients choose the right things to eat, help them plan menus, and advise them on the health effects of certain foods.
Dietician - Experts in foods and nutrition but are certified in treating clinical conditions.
Doctor - An expert in the science of medicine. As a general definition, this person is trained and licensed to treat sick and injured people.
Can I hire a coach for a short-term special project or goal?
When it comes to my coaching practice, absolutely! My coaching intensive options and payment plans are totally contingent upon what it is you are trying to accomplish.

Couldn't I reach my own goals without having a coach?
Only you can answer that question.
As a coach, I hold the vision that everyone has the ability to accomplish any goals they set for themselves. However, a coach can be a powerful resource who helps you get out of your own way, stand out, and take action to achieve goals that are truly important to you. I help you figure out what you don't know and clue you into elements you may not be able to see. With these factors in mind, hitting your goals becomes inevitable.
What's the true difference between a coach and a friend?
The difference is a coach is a professional of habit change and belief reframing.
As part of my education, I understand how to get on my client's map (the way my client sees themselves and the world) to help them see themselves and their world differently to achieve the outcomes they want - one habit change at a time.
Friends are amazing and have your best interest at heart (like me) but many friends can be biased in how they help you and lack the training to help you shift habits for personal transformation.
